Minimalist Style Boot Improves Loaded Running Economy

Minimalist style boots (MIN) improve running, but not walking economy for soldiers under load versus a traditional boot (TRD). Fourteen male participants completed four-5min walking and running trials on a treadmill. We found that only running economy (RE) was improved in all participants except one. This should be considered for soldiers who must complete tasks while running under load
